The Servicemembers Legal Defense Fund has revealed that Senator and presidential candidate John McCain has written a letter to their organization, wherein he states that the Don't Ask, Don't Tell ban on openly gay soldiers "unambiguously maintains that open homosexuality within the military services presents an intolerable risk to morale, cohesion and discipline."
Well, while I don't agree with his position, at least I give him credit for being a presidential candidate willing to speak his mind unlike many of the other front runners, who tell us nothing for fear of isolating any voters.
Don't worry, I have no plans of supporting McCain. He has already proven he isn't presidential material time and time again. It does make me wonder however, that when Mr. McCain was being held captive and being tortured way back when, if he was thinking to himself that it was for the freedom of all Americans, or just the ones that he considers moral.
In a time when the military has had to lower the level of entrance and recruiting into the serives so low that convicted felons are now being allowed to wear the uniform and carry a gun, does it make sense for the disposal of military interpreters, who happen to be gay? Trust me, it happens nearly every day! Ok I am done ranting!
