Final Thought on Jerry Falwell!

After watching the news last night and seeing all these followers of Jerry Falwell speak as to the supposed fact that he wasn't a hater of Abortionists, Gays, etc., I sat in my chair completely confused. How can someone stand before a microphone and blame what occurred on 9/11 on Abortionists, Gays and Lesbians as Mr. Falwell did and not be someone who is spewing hatred?
I can only reconcile it this way! If he is truly not a "hater" as his followers suggest, then I have to say he is worse than a hater! Only someone who maintains a public position in the name of God, who claims to love everyone, yet uses specific groups of people to polarize American citizens for his own personal gain is the lowest of scum of our society! If there is a heaven and a God, I hope Mr. Falwell can reconcile his position "with his God!"

McCain on "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy for the military!

The Servicemembers Legal Defense Fund has revealed that Senator and presidential candidate John McCain has written a letter to their organization, wherein he states that the Don't Ask, Don't Tell ban on openly gay soldiers "unambiguously maintains that open homosexuality within the military services presents an intolerable risk to morale, cohesion and discipline."
Well, while I don't agree with his position, at least I give him credit for being a presidential candidate willing to speak his mind unlike many of the other front runners, who tell us nothing for fear of isolating any voters.
Don't worry, I have no plans of supporting McCain. He has already proven he isn't presidential material time and time again. It does make me wonder however, that when Mr. McCain was being held captive and being tortured way back when, if he was thinking to himself that it was for the freedom of all Americans, or just the ones that he considers moral.
In a time when the military has had to lower the level of entrance and recruiting into the serives so low that convicted felons are now being allowed to wear the uniform and carry a gun, does it make sense for the disposal of military interpreters, who happen to be gay? Trust me, it happens nearly every day! Ok I am done ranting!
